EFRA 40+ EC – important message from the organizer

Dear EFRA friends, all 1:8 drivers, participants at 40+ EC !!!

We heard some concerning opinions about the track in Velika Gorica as well as statements that we are not in line with the EFRA requirements.

WELL, of course we are not at this moment, because we still have a lot of work to do.

Yes, we are aware of the current conditions, and yes, we are going to improve it.

There is 48 days until the EC 40+ starts. Naturally, the track and the accompanying infrastructure around it are still not fully prepared for the European championships competitors.

It would be fulish to get everything done and ready 50 days earlier, and than wait for the grass to grow again!??

So do not worry, there is no need for any pressure from EFRA officials, we know that some things should be done before we start.

As announced earlier, a significant refurbishment of some facilities as well as the track itself has been planned.

Some initial works have already been completed, but the majority is still to follow.

Below are the steps which will be carried out:

  1. Track layout modification
  2. Replacement of track plastic rims
  3. Track surface upgrade
  4. Improvement of drivers’ stand (length, width)
  5. Construction of the PIT ramp in line with the 1:8 standards
  6. Reconstruction of other track facilities

All the above works are planned to start after 15 August.

The delivery of the big tent, driver’s work desks for boxes and other equipment for the championships itself is planned 7 days before the start.

As the Club and the Croatian Federation are aware of the assumed obligations and fully focused on fulfilling them,

we really do not see the need to create the feeling of panic or crisis 48 days in advance.

We regret that some drivers who intended to train on the track came a long way in vain, but it is recommended to check the weather forecast before starting such a trip, isnt’ it (heavy rain in Zagreb the night before)?

I must also add that I personally, as a club president, found out about the above mentioned arrival only a day before, and that even if there were any arrangements for such a training, it was agreed with some of the younger club members and not me personally. I did my best from 350 km distance, but I couldn’t beat the weather.

I apologize heartily to all the drivers who suffered from the above situation and promise that we will definitely find the way to make up for such a inconvenience during the EC 40+.

Best regards to all once again and I hope we will see you soon at the Velika Gorica track.

Ante, “v-maX” president
